Dawn Parham

Director of Case Management

Ms. Parham joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in January 2001. She brings with her over 12 years of administrative and customer service experience. Ms. Parham provides exceptional assistance and compassion to those clients involved in various types of accidents which have resulted in serious bodily injury. She also works directly with employees at insurance companies and medical providers allowing our clients to focus only on their recuperation process. Ms. Parham also supervises a staff of eight case managers and provides support to two attorneys regarding both serious and soft tissue injuries. She is a veteran of the United States Army and attended Piedmont Community College. In addition to spending time with her husband of nine years, six-year old daughter and two step-sons, Ms. Parham also enjoys reading, watching movies and various spectator sports, especially UNC basketball.

Tammy Andino

Case Manager

Ms. Andino is a case manager handling soft tissue cases and has been with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin since June of 2004. Before joining our firm she worked with GMAC Insurance as a Coverage & Assignment Specialist. She also brings with her over 18 years of customer service experience. She is a native of Durham, NC, and graduated from NCCU with a BBA in Insurance. She enjoys walks in the park, latin dancing, bowling and spending time with her very active toddler Samantha.

Shannon Berndt

Paralegal

Ms. Berndt is a North Carolina State University graduate and previously worked at Disability Determination Services for the past 11 years. Ms. Berndt and her husband have a three year old son. She enjoys live music concerts – Bob Dylan and Tift Merritt…but she LOVES coffee, football, and comedy.

Stephen Blomberg

Paralegal

Mr. Blomberg grew up in Durham, but lived in Houston, Texas for the last couple of years before returning. Mr. Blomberg previously worked at a local gym as an elite trainer developing a solid foundation to become a personal trainer. In his spare time, Mr. Blomberg enjoys watching movies and hanging out with friends at the local Universities.

Lawanda Bradley

Administrative Case Manager

Ms. Bradley is originally from Wilmington, North Carolina and has been in the Triangle area for nine years.

Ms. Bradley has worked in the healthcare field for thirteen years. She has three children and enjoys reading in her spare time.

Jessica Cabanas

Case Manager (Bilingual)

Ms. Cabañas grew up in Durham, North Carolina and now lives in Morrisville, North Carolina. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelors of Art in Spanish Language and Literature.

Ms. Cabañas has extensive experience in the healthcare industry as well as working with the Hispanic Community.

She enjoys spending time with her two children, watching movies and reading.

Aimee Casey

Paralegal

Ms. Casey works out of our New Bern office.

Ms. Casey is originally from Massachusetts and currently resides with her husband Chris and their two daughters Riley and Ryan in New Bern. Her hobbies include gardening and golfing.

Shannon Chapman

Senior Paralegal

Ms. Chapman joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in June of 2002. She brings with her over 15 years of customer service experience. Ms. Chapman started as a receptionist with our Firm and has since worn many hats, including coordinating client settlement disbursals and managing mass tort claims. In addition to spending time with her three children, Ms. Chapman also enjoys reading, watching movies, camping, and most outdoor sports.

Pam Chastain

Ms. Chastain has been with the Firm since 2002. She has worked as a paralegal for seven years and now works in the Durham office as part of the workers’ compensation team assisting clients with workers’ compensation case mediation, litigation and settlements.

Kathy Coleman

Senior Paralegal

Ms. Coleman has been with the Firm since 2002. She has worked as a paralegal for fourteen years. Ms. Coleman works in our Durham office in the workers’ compensation department and works closely with our clients and workers’ compensation attorneys to manage sometimes complex case mediation, litigation and settlements.

April Collins

Lead Case Manager

Ms. Collins lives in Raleigh, NC, is married and has two daughters. She has been a personal injury paralegal for over nine years. Ms. Collins enjoys reading, event planning and do-it-yourself projects.

Lori Davis

Paralegal

Ms. Davis joins the firm with four years of personal injury and worker’s compensation experience, and also three years of experience as an insurance claims adjuster licensed in NC, SC, GA, and LA. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Development with a minor in Criminal Justice at Mount Olive College in Mount Olive, NC.

Ms. Davis is from Princeton, NC and enjoys softball, bowling, fishing, and white water rafting. She has two daughters, Ashley and Taylor.

Kathy Davidson

Lead Case Manager

Ms. Davidson has been with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin since September of 2004. She brings with her to the Firm over three years of law office experience working in the areas of real estate, family law, workers’ compensation and personal injury. She is currently a student at Durham Technical Community College where she is working on obtaining her Paralegal Technology Degree. Some of her personal interests include photography, piano, technology and theater arts.

Amanda Driver

Case Manager

Ms. Driver has been with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin since August 2002. She began working in the accounting department handling disbursals and is now a case manager working directly with clients that have serious bodily injuries as a result of various types of accidents. She speaks with employees at insurance companies and medical providers to give clients more of an opportunity to concentrate on recovering. She is originally from Durham, NC and attended North Carolina State University. She is married and enjoys spending time with family, Carolina Football and Basketball, scrap booking and shopping.

Uche Enemchukwu

Ms. Enemchukwu graduated from Duke University in 2007. She majored in history and international comparative area studies. Having spent a year teaching English in Italy, Ms. Enemchukwu enjoys all things international.

Christy Evans

Case Manager

Ms. Evans is a N.C. native and joined the firm in 2006. She has worked in areas of legal administration for several years and currently assists clients with personal injury and car accident cases. Ms. Evans has been married for 12 years, she and her husband stay very busy with three beautiful children and two dogs.

Lisa Ford

Case Resolution Coordinator

Originally from Maryland, Ms. Ford lived in Wilmington and recently moved to Raleigh. She has over 15 years of customer service and management experience. Ms. Ford is married and has a 2 year old daughter. In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening and spending time at the beach.

Ellen Goshorn

Ms. Goshorn graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s Degree in political science. Her background includes more than six years of administrative experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Ms. Goshorn enjoys reading, boating, throwing the frisbee for her dog, and spending time with friends and family.

Cherie Hatton

Paralegal (Bilingual)

Originally from Miami, Ms. Hatton moved to the Raleigh area in 2003 and joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in the summer of 2006. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Hatton has over 15 years of legal experience and most recently worked for insurance companies and with defense firms in the areas of litigation and workers’ compensation . She enjoys the beach, the mountains, art, reading and especially spending time with her husband and two very active toddlers, Giana and Chloe.

Skyla Higginbotham

Case Manager

Ms. Higginbotham has been with the Firm since 2002 and assists our lawyers with personal injury cases that move to our growing litigation practice. Her primary duties include greeting clients, checking clients’ medical account balances, and receiving and completing personal injury litigation assignments. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family and loves to go shopping.

Essense Hill

Case Manager

Ms. Hill relocated back to Raleigh after living in Seattle, WA for two years. While in Seattle, Ms. Hill worked for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s office as a legal assistant.

Ms. Hill volunteers her time as a mentor for young girls and enjoys reading, traveling and shopping.

Chastity Hocutt

Paralegal

Ms.Hocutt was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. She has been a paralegal for nearly a decade. Ms. Hocutt graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and obtained her Paralegal degree from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. She recently obtained her North Carolina Certified Paralegal Distinction.

Ms. Hocutt is married and has two beautiful children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, church activities, event planning, and scrap booking.

Lisa Jones-Ackey

Ms. Jones-Ackey is married and has three grown children and one grandchild.

In Ms. Jones-Ackey’s spare time she enjoys spending time with family, boating, reading and playing with her Beagle, Flash. She is originally from Arkansas but has lived in North Carolina for ten years.

Dayna Luihn

Case Manager

Ms. Luihn is engaged to her fiance and they are the proud parents of fifteen month old son. They also have two crazy dogs and Ms. Luihn says “a little chaos completes the day.”

When not working, you can find Ms. Luihn and her family outside playing, usually in the form of stomping through the woods or fishing, activities the whole family can enjoy.

Susan Middour

Paralegal (Bilingual)

Ms. Middour has been with the Law Office of James Scott Farrin since 2001. She works with our lawyers, our clients and their insurance companies to negotiate workers’ compensation settlements. She is instrumental in securing successful case closures for our clients. She is a native of Chapel Hill and enjoys hiking and photography.

Kevin Midkiff

Paralegal

Mr. Midkiff grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended North Carolina State University. He has both a Bachelors and Masters of Arts in English. Following college, Mr. Midkiff worked for Blockbuster Entertainment Group as a district trainer/store manager throughout various locations in Raleigh, Cary, and Garner. His diverse customer service skills and background led him to a job with the state’s Disability Determination Services examining social security claims.

Mr. Midkiff has been married for 10 years and have 2 beautiful daughters. Their family also includes 2 German shepherds, Grace and Spencer

Jill Miraglia

Paralegal

A North Carolina Certified Paralegal, Ms. Miraglia joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in August of 2000 as part of the personal injury settlements and negotiations team. She now serves as a managing litigation paralegal to Mr. Gondek and Ms. Lang, working closely with personal injury cases that proceed to our growing litigation practice.

Stacie Monahan

Negotiator

Originally from Syracuse, NY, Ms. Monahan moved to the Raleigh, NC area just over one year ago. She has an associates degree in business administration. Ms. Monahan enjoys concerts, sporting events, and spending time with her niece and nephew.

Vanessa Monge

Administrative Case Manager

Ms. Monge graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a double-major in International Studies and Psychology. She has three years of experience in personal injury law, as well as some experience in Criminal and Worker’s Compensation cases.

Ms. Monge was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She moved to North Carolina when she started high school. She enjoys spending time outdoors and loves to watch baseball and college sports. Ms. Monge has a dog named Scruffy and currently lives in Durham.

Candice Newby

Administrative Case Manager

Ms. Newby is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She came to Raleigh to attend North Carolina Central University, where she received her Bachelor’s in Political Science in 2000. She then furthered her education, attending Durham Technical Community College, receiving her Associates in Paralegal Technology in 2006.

Ms. Newby enjoys singing, dancing, movies, bowling, and various other extracurricular activities in her spare time.

Melanie Owens

Negotiator

Originally from Tennessee, Ms. Owens moved to North Carolina in 2000 and now lives in Raleigh. Prior to coming to the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, Ms. Owens worked for the American Board of Pediatrics and as a paralegal for a real estate law firm. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her son, going to the gym, and taking bike rides.

Lisa Parker-Hawkins

Administrative Case Manager

Ms. Parker-Hawkins has been with the Law Office of James Scott Farrin since September of 2002. She works primarily on soft tissue injury cases resulting from car accidents. Ms. Parker-Hawkins works with our clients in giving them the summarization of their car accident cases. She is a native of Durham, NC, and enjoys traveling.

Leigh Anne Ray

Case Manager

Ms. Ray joined the firm in April 2006 as a case manager and works primarily with medical providers and employees of insurance companies. A resident of Clayton, NC for the past 21 years, Ms. Ray has three dogs and a horse that are her pride and joy. She enjoys riding horses, fishing, any outdoor activity, playing with her dogs and spending time with family and friends.

Melanie Ray

Case Manager

Ms. Ray is originally from Raleigh, and graduated from UNC Asheville with a B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences & Weather Forecasting.

Ms. Ray lives in Raleigh with her husband and daughter. She enjoys it when the weather gets interesting, and she loves spending time with family and friends.

Tana Remington

Lead Case Manager

Joining the James Scott Farrin team in 2004, Ms. Remington comes to us from a computer hardware and software support company, where she worked in customer service relations for four years. She works as a Case Manager assisting clients to resolve their car accident cases. She is also a student at Durham Technical Community College, studying for an Associates Degree in Paralegal Technology. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and spending time with her daughter and animals.

Kenya Reynard

Case Manager (Bilingual)

Ms. Reynard is originally from Florida and moved to North Carolina three years ago. She works as a Case Manager at James Scott Farrin and is pleased to assist our Spanish-speaking clients with their sometimes complex workers’ compensation concerns. She also assists as an intake specialist and Spanish translator. Before joining our firm she employed her considerable customer service skills as a sales manager for a major retail organization and in debt management. When not working Ms. Reynard is an avid athlete and is often seen on her bike, in the pool or running in training for the triathlons and other competitions that she enjoys.

Vanice Riley

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Ms. Riley moved to Durham in 1990; she attended East Carolina University and North Carolina Central University. She is married and has 3 children. Ms. Riley enjoys anything that has to do with the outdoors and spending time with her family.

Felicia M. Rousseau

Ms. Rousseau has worked in the legal field for over ten years. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.A. in Communication and also completed the paralegal program at Meredith College. Ms. Rousseau is a North Carolina certified paralegal and enjoys reading and spending time with her friends and family in her spare time.

Delba Ruiz

Case Manager (Bilingual)

Ms. Ruiz graduated from Central Carolina Community College with an A.A.S. in Paralegal. She has worked in a small law firm in Orlando, FL. and in Sanford, NC.

Ms. Ruiz is the mother of an high maintenance 7 year-old boy. She enjoys reading and taking her son to his various sports games such as football, baseball, soccer, and basketball.

Javier Ruiz

Case Manager (Bilingual)

Mr.Ruiz is originally from Ecuador and fluent in Spanish. Mr. Ruiz joined the Law Firm in September 2005 as an Investigator. He enjoys helping out our Spanish-speaking clients with their personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. Mr.Ruiz earned a degree in Business Administration and worked for many years in banks in Ecuador. This experience dealing with clients has carried over to his most important commitment: to provide excellent customer service to our Hispanic population. At the moment, Mr. Ruiz works specifically with our Hispanic clients in the resolution of their personal injury cases. Mr.Ruiz in his spare time loves to spend time with his wife and also likes sports, soccer being his favorite sport. If you need someone always willing to help, do not hesitate to contact Mr.Ruiz. Angela Sanchez

Case Manager

Ms. Sanchez joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2001. She has several years of experience, with multiple law firms, as a real estate paralegal. In that capacity, Ms. Sanchez was responsible for the preparation of closing statements and maintaining the trust account. Her responsibilities in the firm have included the day-to-day management of the firm’s trust account and finances. She presently serves as a settlement administrator where she assists attorneys in the review of liens and medical documentation in the preparation of a client’s file for settlement, as well as assisting in the resolution of issues involving Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, and other issues related to settlement.

Cali Schmitt

Paralegal (Bilingual)

Originally from Woodstock, NY, Ms. Schmitt is an alumnus of the University of North Carolia-Chapel Hill, and currently studying law at North Carolina Central University. She studied Spanish at el Centro Internacional Formacion Actoral Luz Columba, and volunteers locally as an ESL tutor. In her spare time Ms. Schmitt enjoys playing dominoes, reading and traveling.

Rachell Snipes

Case Manager

Ms. Snipes is originally from New Jersey and moved to North Carolina in 2000. She brings 10 years of combined experience in medical underwriting, customer service, and administrative assistance.

Ms. Snipes is married and has 12-year-old twins. She enjoys cooking, crafting, and spending quality time with her family.

Debbie Starnes

Negotiator

Ms. Starnes is originally from Miami, FL. She moved to NC in 1974 and currently resides in Cary with her husband. Ms. Starnes has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry where she has handled claims as a Senior Claims Adjuster and Team Leader. Ms. Starnes has a NC Adjusters License and she has obtained her AIC designation (Associate in Claims).

Ms. Starnes has attended NC State, Durham Tech and Wake Tech. She enjoys working with children and is currently training to become a Guardian Ad-Litem for Wake County.

Ann Stevens

Lead Case Manager

Ms. Stevens relocated to the Raleigh-Durham area in 2006. She has been working for and with people for several years. She received her B.A. degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado and her Associates Degree in Paralegal studies. She worked as a Paralegal in various areas of law including Litigation, Social Security Disability, and Real Estate. She has also worked as a Realtor, Administrative Assistant, and riding instructor for a non-profit program helping mentally and physically challenged individuals ride horses. She met her husband while working in Antarctica and now resides in the area with her husband and four children. In her time off she enjoys kayaking, rock climbing, and spending time with her family. Ms. Stevens relies on the experience she has gained to assist our clients through challenging times.

Betty Sutherland

Paralegal

Ms. Sutherland is originally from New York, but has lived in North Carolina for 19 years. Ms. Sutherland has worked with law firms for more than 24 years, five in New York and almost 20 in North Carolina. She’s always worked for a plaintiff’s firm and believes in giving a voice to those who need to be heard the most.

Ms. Sutherland lives in Cary, North Carolina with her husband who is retired from the New York City Fire Department, and they are proud grandparents of triplets.

Roberta Vance

Paralegal

Ms. Vance joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in December 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Vance worked at an insurance defense firm in Raleigh for nearly seven years. Before her law firm experience, she also worked for almost six years at the North Carolina Industrial Commission. Ms. Vance enjoys the beach and spending time with her family and friends.

Eddie Vivero

Case Manager (Bilingual)

Mr. Vivero joined our team as a Case Manager in the summer of 2007. Mr. Vivero relocated to the Raleigh-Durham area in 2007 from California where he was born and raised. Mr. Vivero brings with him over 16 years of experience including working in Government Agencies, as a Health Care Manager, and as a Finance Manager. He enjoys running long distances and has participated in several marathons in Hawaii, Long Beach, CA, and he plans on participating in the upcoming Raleigh/Durham marathon.

Tasha Weaver

Paralegal

Ms. Weaver grew up in a military family and has lived in Hawaii, Japan, California, and New Jersey, but considers Jacksonville, NC home.

Ms. Weaver is a graduate of East Carolina University (ECU), and has a BS in communication. One of her collegiate accomplishments is founding a multicultural sorority at ECU. In Ms. Weaver’s spare time she enjoys traveling; watching TV; visiting local museums, wineries and parks; and learning to play the guitar.

Dawn Wentz

Ms. Wentz is a crucial part of the Firm’s accounting team and works to distribute settlements to our personal injury clients. She worked previously in the office of Durham County District Court Judge James T. (Jim) Hill, and has over three years experience as a real estate paralegal.

Christina White

Supervisor of Case Management

As a recent relocator from San Diego, CA, Ms. White, her husband and young daughter are enjoying the southern way of life. Ms. White has many years of experience in the insurance industry. Ms. White enjoys entertaining, decorating and spending time at the beach with family and friends.
