Underage drinking involved in fatal car accident
On November 2, 2008, a man was killed in a car accident in Jacksonville, North Carolina. A 20-year-old man was driving while intoxicated (DWI) when he hit a parked car and flipped his pickup truck. His 20-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the DWI car accident.
The driver in the fatal car accident was charged with felony death by motor vehicle, driving while impaired and careless and reckless driving. A 21-year-old man is charged with four counts of giving a malt beverage to underage persons and four counts of giving spirituous liquor to underage persons.
