On September 11, 2008, a 40-year-old man was driving a tractor-trailer truck on I-295 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, when his truck crossed the median and crashed into oncoming traffic.

The commercial truck accident killed three people. The driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries and was released.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported 50 fatal tractor-trailer truck accidents in New Jersey in 2006.
